« Back 01.07.2009 22:40 “OOO LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft through Chief Mechanical Engineer Department and Oil&Gas Production Department evaluated quality of electrometric survey performed to determine the coating condition, the corrosion protection level and corrosion and drainage protections operability at oil pipeline segments chosen for inspection in Kaliningradsky region area. The technical reports your company submitted following 2007-2008 inspections were fully confirmed by repair and maintenance works performed; the relevant recommendations implementation allowed improving the corrosion protections operation efficiency. The most critical for us was a technical solution to eliminate the hazardous electrical corrosion impact of earth currents on the segment of pipeline Beregovoye – OGS Romanovo, Dn 273 mm, in the area of electric railway station Kulikovo crossing. For the first time ever in the corrosion protection practice an individual electric drainage arrangement was successfully implemented using in-series connection of diode gates and selecting current limit resistors of the drainage facilities; also using additional stand-alone shunt surface earthing. As a result at the moment of overvoltage the pipeline potential was reduced from minus 8V (in absolute value) to the value of minus 3.5V allowed per GOST R 51164-98. And in the absence of the railway substation earth currents the protection voltage was regulated at the level of minus 1.8V. All inspections were completed in due time and flawlessly from start to finish. During our cooperation the responsible persons from relevant OOO LUKOIL-KMN departments obtained in-depth technical and theoretical advice offline. Our opinion:
Conclusion: All in all works were completed within originally agreed schedule with in-depth information support provided to the complete satisfaction on the part OOO LUKOIL-Kaliningradmorneft. Y. Mandruguin Chief Mechanical Engineer” |
