USE OF THE ACOUSTIC AND RESONANCE FIELD PIPELINE DIAGNOSTICS METHOD TO IDENTIFY UNAUTHORIZED TIE-INS
The joint cooperation of several subdivisions of “Orenburgneft”, PJSC, allows identifying and eliminating unauthorized tie-ins into field pipelines of the company. In particular, the Pipeline Operation Directorate (POD) performs a set of actions to identify possible unauthorized tie-ins: pipeline walkdowns and riding rounds, flyovers with helicopter and aircraft transport, in-line inspections, tracking possible non-arrivals by oil metering units. However the issue of identifying unauthorized tie-ins is still topical, therefore experts face a task of searching for new economically and technically justified methods of such identification. This article analyses the results of the pilot-scale tests of the acoustic and resonance pipeline diagnostics method aimed at identifying unauthorized tie-ins, which were carried out by the experts of the POD and “NTC Neftegazdiagnostika”, LLC.
